Josh Berglund
Managing Partner
Josh is a Managing Partner at Rsquared, where he leads investments across deep tech, defense, and emerging technology. He brings to the firm a rare perspective shaped by having been simultaneously a builder of startups, a deployer of their technologies in the field, and an investor backing them at the earliest stages.
Before joining Rsquared in 2020, Josh served with U.S. Army Special Operations Command, deployed to the Middle East — where he did something most investors never get to do: take early-stage technology into operational environments and assess its real-world performance firsthand. That experience gives him a ground-truth lens on what defense and dual-use technology actually needs to work, not just on paper. Prior to his military service, Josh co-founded Graviton Technologies, raising seed funding from leading investors. He also served as a Principal at Prospect Capital Management, leading the firm's technology investing office, and as a Partner at Vandelay Ventures, where he spearheaded investments across 23 early-stage companies, realizing multiple strategic exits and up-rounds. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University and London Business School.
At Rsquared, Josh has sourced and invested in companies including Science Corporation, MK1 (acquired by AMD), Augment Code, Pheast, Kela Technologies, Integrate, Atom Computing, and Wetstone.
